I’m a 29 year old USMC veteran, current student at Middle Tennessee State University, and student of Plant and Soil science and Computer Information Systems.
I’m interested in survival tactics, survival gear, disaster preparedness, land navigation, and ultralight backpacking. There is a drop-down menu to the right that will let you check out all articles of each of these topics.
Within these pages will be posts about these topics and I aim to keep this here as a resource. It never hurts to be prepared for anything and I firmly believe that “luck” (to quote someone, here) is nothing more than “when preparedness meets with opportunity”. So, make your own luck and be prepared for anything.
Do I mean to say that you should become a “prepper”, going out on the weekends to shoot an AR-15 while wearing Army surplus gear and pretending to be something you’re not? Absolutely not! Those people aren’t as prepared as they’d like to think and they’d learn all too soon what they should’ve done differently when and if the need ever arises.
So, have a look around and welcome to the Common Sense Survival Guide!
